Our Story

WOLF PACK DNA was founded by a group of passionate individuals dedicated to uncovering the truth through genetic genealogy. Our journey began at Ramapo College, where we came together over a shared interest in genetic genealogy and the emerging techniques in this field. Recognizing its potential, we all entered The Investigative Genetic Genealogy Certificate Program at Ramapo College to develop, practice and hone in on our skills. We are proud to say, we collectively worked on two unidentified human remains cases together.

With the excitement and possibility of a burgeoning field comes the understanding that sometimes you have to forge your own trail. For it to become a “field,” you often need to help clear the way. Our founder, Rebecca Van Horn, recognized that the best opportunities are sometimes those you create for yourself. She proposed the idea of forming WOLF PACK DNA, inspired by the collaborative and resilient nature of wolf packs. Rebecca envisioned a nonprofit organization that could harness our collective strengths to make a significant difference. The cohesive and effective approach of a wolf pack applied to a team mindset has shaped her vision for WOLF PACK DNA, emphasizing our unique abilities to create meaningful impact together.

Our team is composed of former classmates, each bringing their own expertise and passion. As we brainstormed and planned, we found inspiration in the way wolves work together in packs, utilizing their strengths and instincts to achieve their goals. This analogy resonated deeply with us all, and WOLF PACK DNA was officially named, symbolizing our commitment to working collaboratively and tenaciously in our pursuit of truth and justice.

At WOLF PACK DNA, we employ advanced genetic genealogy techniques to tackle challenging cases. Our mission is to provide answers and support to those in need, whether by aiding law enforcement by providing leads in cold cases, or helping individuals uncover their biological origins. In all our work, we emphasize ethical practices, ensuring that we uphold the highest standards of integrity and respect for all individuals involved. We are united by a shared philosophy and mission, driven by the belief that every story deserves to be told and every mystery solved.

We are WOLF PACK DNA. Together, we navigate the complexities of genetic data, uncover hidden histories, and strive to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those we serve. Our story is one of collaboration, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to ethics, justice and truth.
